I use my Direct Express Mastercard to receive my Social Security benefits every month. Today, May 3, [redacted], I discovered that my card had expired, and I was not informed of this. When I tried to shop at Walmart, I realized my benefit payment wasn't on the card. After contacting customer service at [redacted], the representative mentioned my payment was sent to a previous address on Rivers Avenue, even though I have lived at [redacted] Crossroads Drive for over 3 years. I have been experiencing unauthorized charges on my Direct Express card for the past 4-5 months, possibly even longer. Despite my efforts to dispute these unusual charges, including a $[redacted] charge to a liquor store, totaling over $[redacted] along with other unauthorized charges, I have not received any resolution. These charges are affecting my budget, causing me to fall behind on bills. I reported the issue to the police two months ago, but further unauthorized charges appeared last night. The latest charge was to RSF*Smart Communications, adding to my financial losses. As a 61-year-old woman living alone on disability, I fear losing my home and not being able to catch up on bills. Despite my attempts to seek help from Direct Express and Metro regarding unauthorized charges for a metro phone bill, my situation remains unresolved. Hello, my name is John H. I received my new card today as my old one expired. When I contacted customer service, the agent was rude to me. Due to my health conditions, my wife usually speaks for me, but they wouldn't allow her. I couldn't recall my old phone number associated with the account, so they refused to activate the card. I contacted Direct Express on May 10th hoping to receive my funds, but discovered unauthorized charges of $39.90. I initiated a dispute but am now unable to follow up on my claim due to difficulty reaching customer service. The number on the back of my card only provides information about a replacement card before disconnecting. Despite the amount seeming small at $[redacted].60, I am in a tough spot caring for three children at home. I urgently need to verify the status of my claim in order to contact the water company and prevent my water from being shut off.

I have been trying to contact DirectEx regarding my missing card for three weeks now. While the customer service agents are friendly, I have not been able to confirm if my issue is being handled correctly. Despite speaking to a real person three times, each time I requested to be transferred to the fraud specialists, I was redirected back to the automated system which is only operational intermittently. The automated information provided mentioned that I have three open cards, but I am unsure why they were not closed. When I was asked for a verification code, I had to go online to retrieve it, only to be disconnected and find the code invalid upon my return. It has been past the 19-day limit to dispute charges, and I have yet to receive the necessary forms or a refund. I confirmed the transaction date of April 29th with the tracking number from the transaction.

I recently received my Direct Express card along with the information on how to use it. However, I have moved to a new address since then and need to update my information. I haven't had a chance to set a PIN or use the card yet. I am concerned that someone may have used my card without my knowledge, as it could have been taken when I was in a Nursing Home. This company has been giving me so many issues with my card. I checked my balance earlier, but the app wouldn't recognize my fingerprint and kept saying my password was wrong. I'm frustrated and considering blogging about this to rally others to push the government to address this terrible company. I need details on switching from Direct Express to another card. Lately, there has been fraudulent activity on my card. I believe the issue is that my recently received card is currently locked. I obtained the card via express delivery from UPS yesterday. After activating it and linking it to my cell phone app, everything seemed fine. However, when I tried to use it this morning on Cash App to pay a bill and later at Walmart, it was declined. When I called Direct Express, my phone kept disconnecting. After being on the phone for 2 and a half hours, the call with withdrawal protection was cut off, mentioning suspicious activity and connecting me to the fraud department. Sadly, my phone died before I could get help. This is my only phone, so I hope to find a solution here.

I recently discovered a charge on my card and contacted customer service. They informed me that a new card would be issued. Unfortunately, there were errors in the provided numbers. I have been trying to contact the 1-[redacted] number for two days to inform them that I have not yet received my card. I received my payment today but I am behind on a few bills and may lose internet access, which is my only means of affording communication currently. I am frustrated to be submitting this at 1 in the morning because every time I call, the call gets disconnected. It seems unreasonable that so many people would be calling at 1 am. I believe the system is faulty. I hold the Direct Express team accountable for any issues that may arise from this situation. I attempted to use the Direct Express emergency cash service but could not proceed without a card number or CVV for the app. I am at a loss as even contacting Social Security did not yield any results. This experience has been disappointing, and I feel neglected by the government entity that should be assisting us. I urgently need access to my funds.

I submitted payments around midnight on June 3rd, [redacted]. My daughter attempted three transfers of her allowance from my Direct Express card to her CashApp card, as she usually does monthly. Unfortunately, the card is now locked. I've spent a total of 6 hours today waiting for assistance from Direct Express, but no one has answered the phone yet, and it's currently 2:50 am on June 4th. I have noticed two transactions on my account that I did not authorize. One was on June 6, [redacted], for Walmart+, which is not due until the 26th of each month. I checked my Walmart account, and there is no record of this charge. The second charge was for clip studios on June 3, [redacted], for $4.49, a company I am not familiar with and did not make a purchase from. Resetting the password fails due to the site experiencing technical issues. Accessing the transaction history for my fraud report is crucial, but due to the login problem, I can't view it. Despite multiple attempts to contact them, I've had minimal success reaching out, managing to speak with a representative only once without a solution. I informed Direct Express of my trip to Kenya for three months to ensure smooth transactions. Despite their assurance, my transactions were denied. When attempting to contact them, I was directed to their website due to high call volume, but the page would not load. Running out of medication, I urgently require access to my funds. On April 15th, my daughter experienced a fire at [redacted] Lincoln Ave in El Paso, Texas. Her belongings, including her card, were destroyed. Despite reporting the card lost on the same day, a replacement never arrived after 10 days. Following issues with my benefits card being sent to the wrong address and deactivated, I sorted it out and awaited a card for my daughter, but it never arrived. I opened an account at Mountain Star Federal Credit Union. We received June's payment, but nothing for May. Direct Express mentioned my daughter's account was closed with no funds, while Social Security confirmed they hadn't received any money back. I'm trying to locate our May payment.
